On March 1, 2010, PlayStation 3 owners around the world began reporting serious issues with their consoles. While some PS3s have been unable to play games and log into the PlayStation Network, other consoles haven’t experienced any problems. The question is: what is going on?
What started this whole ball rolling were a series of leaked, low quality photographs depicting molds and packaging art for a slimline PS3, taken in a Chinese factory. The photographs were originally posted on a popular Chinese message board, and subsequently spread to numerous gaming sites.
A message to would-be PS3 thieves in Florida: don't break into someone's house looking for the goods if you're not ready for a good old fashioned sword fight.
The PlayStation 3 will feature the much-vaunted Cell processor, which will run at 3.2GHz, giving the whole system 2 teraflops of overall performance. It will sport 256MB XDR main RAM at 3.2GHz, and it will have 256MB of GDDR VRAM at 700MHz.
